Road to UM

The Road to UM will be your go-to guide for all things you need to know during the summer months prior to your start at the U.

    The summer webinar series is designed to provide you with information about a variety of topics related to being a student at the University of Miami. The sessions are presented by University administrators, faculty, and students on topics that may generate questions over the summer that you would like answered before you arrive to campus for the orientation program.


Students are eligibile to have jobs at UM. You can search for part-time jobs, internships, and research opportunities throughout the summer and academic year. Receive email notifications about positions that you are interested in.


Orientation is a mandatory transition program immediately prior to the start of classes that assists undergraduate first-year and transfer students with their academic, personal, social, and cultural transition to the University of Miami. 

  • Orientation Newsletter
    Prior to your arrival to campus, you will receive a series of online newsletters that contain relevant, important information and topics that will help you get prepared for the U. New students receive each newsletter via their UM email. In these you will find updates and reminders streamlined into a single email each month. You will receive the newsletter the first Tuesday of each month from May through August.

There are several mentorship programs available to join at UM if you would like some personalized help in getting acclimated to your new environment.
