Advising at UM is a core educational activity that assumes both studetns' responsibility for their own learning and advisors' interests in each student's individual goals, achievements, and aspirations.
Advising comes in various forms, whether it be course scheduling, meeting with your assigned academic advisor, working with supplemental advisors such as career advisors, advisors in the residential colleges, an advisor supporting underrepresented students and first-generation students, or even specialty advisors such as pre-health or pre-law advising, as a few examples. Take advantage of the vast number of resources on campus provided to support you.
