If you are an incoming first-year or transfer student, Transitional Guides serve as your primary point of contact. They offer you transitional support and guidance, and they play a crucial role in connecting you to university life and preparing you for foundational coursework success.

Transitional Guide Role and Responsibilities:

  • Onboard new students
  • Review and guide academic program selection
  • Guide first semester academic planning
  • Provide registration tutorials and guidance
  • Introduce policies and procedures​
  • Train on University of Miami student systems
  • Empower students to take ownership of their academic journey
  • Handoff to Cane Navigator upon student arrival to campus
