If you are an incoming first-year or transfer student, Transitional Guides serve as your primary point of contact. They offer you transitional support and guidance, and they play a crucial role in connecting you to university life and preparing you for foundational coursework success.
Transitional Guide Role and Responsibilities:
- Onboard new students
- Review and guide academic program selection
- Guide first semester academic planning
- Provide registration tutorials and guidance
- Introduce policies and procedures
- Train on University of Miami student systems
- Support students interested in exploring and transferring between schools/colleges
- Empower students to take ownership of their academic journey
- Handoff to Cane Navigator upon student arrival to campus
